A while back, I wrote a blog on my food blog about how proud I was of Disney World for adding vegetarian and vegan options to their menus all over the parks. As a pescatarian, I so appreciate being able to have multiple choices at every spot I eat at. Not only are they options, but they’re delicious as well! I feel entirely included in all meals I get there. Their policies indicate that every food location on property must have not just one, but multiple plant based options. Even new lands like Galaxy’s Edge have entirely vegan choices.
With new restaurants like Space 220 and Woody’s Roundup opening within the next year, I am curious about what other culinary innovations Disney will offer to continue as a trailblazer in the environmental movement.
I am not a vegan myself, but I know how hard it is for vegans to find food, especially in an amusement park setting, that abides by their dietary restrictions. Having both entree and dessert options that are vegan is amazing. They even create custom menus for those of us that are plant based or concerned with other food allergies.
From meatloaf, to sausage at every breakfast location, to incredible meatballs and hummus at Docking Bay 7, I get to have foods that I haven’t eaten in years, but entirely plant-based! it’s just another reason I always wish I could be back in Disney, because I know I could be scoffing down some delicious food without the costs of animal-based protein.
